Dr. Molitoris and MPTC Patient Paul Spoke with WBAL

Dr. Jason Molitoris was recently on WBAL, where he discussed what proton therapy is and how it can help patients like Paul Murray, who was diagnosed with tonsil cancer. Paul has been singing and playing music with his good friend since the 1970s, so preserving his voice was critical to him and the MPTC team. Because proton therapy precisely targets tumors, it decreased the overall radiation to nearby structures in Murray’s throat. As Dr. Molitoris describes, “He is an ideal candidate for that reason: To use proton therapy in an effort to be able to allow him to do what he loves to do.”
